Geisha from Panama
Geisha coffee from Panama is world-renowned, and all coffee cultivation in Panama revolves around the Chiriquí Volcano region, with Boquete being the most picturesque area. The region boasts uniquely fertile volcanic soil, abundant moisture, regular rainfall, dense vegetation, and cloud cover, all nurturing the coffee trees to produce high-quality beans with rich flavors. Various microclimates also contribute to beans with diverse flavor profiles, and the famous Finca Elida is also located in this region. Adjacent to Boquete, the Volcán region has become an emerging area for cultivating high-quality Geisha coffee in recent years.

Geisha coffee from Panama has always drawn significant attention. In the 2004 BOP competition, Geisha coffee shot to fame, and in subsequent years' green bean competitions, it dominated the championships, giving rise to numerous champion estates. Panamanian Geisha exhibits delicate floral, citrus, and honey notes.
Premium Geisha Estate — Deborah
Deborah Estate is nestled in the high mountains of the Chiriquí Volcano, making it one of the highest and most remote coffee farms in Panama. At these altitudes, nighttime temperatures can drop to 10°C. The extreme elevation and lower temperatures slow down the trees' metabolism. These temperatures as low as 10°C allow the trees to push more sugars into the cherries during production. Additionally, Deborah Estate enjoys ideal annual rainfall, averaging 2200 mm.

For most of the year, Deborah Estate is shrouded in tropical rainforest clouds, home to abundant rare flora and fauna undisturbed beneath the canopy. The estate’s cultivation process avoids gas-powered machinery, harsh chemical pesticides, and herbicides. It actively maintains a natural growing environment by using organic fertilizers and organic weed control to preserve ecological balance between coffee trees and unwanted shrubs.
Due to Deborah Estate’s high altitude, diseases are naturally minimized. The temperature alone becomes inhospitable for fungal issues and other unwanted diseases. This allows the coffee trees to focus on producing beautiful fruit rather than expending precious energy fighting diseases. Elevated altitude also minimizes insect problems. These positive factors are also reflected in management, translating to lower costs and reduced production fluctuations. Such an exceptional geographical environment results in Deborah Estate’s coffee being of outstanding quality with rich flavors.

Savage Series Geisha Coffee
In addition to managing Deborah Estate, owner Mr. Savage (Jamison Savage) runs two other projects: his new estate, Morgan Estate, and the Savage Coffee project. Named after himself, the Savage Coffee project reflects Mr. Savage’s deep commitment to it. The Geisha coffee purchased by Front Street this time is from Savage Coffee.

Savage positions himself as one of the most sophisticated coffee producers globally. Therefore, he not only processes beans grown on his own estates but also acquires high-quality beans from around Deborah Estate through the Savage Coffee project, which are then processed using Deborah Estate’s techniques.

Coffee Processing Method
This Geisha coffee from Front Street uses a special anaerobic natural process. The beans were sourced from regions at 2000-2350m, ensuring premium quality. Freshly picked coffee cherries are sun-dried in greenhouses until they resemble raisins. They are then placed in sealed containers for 36 hours of anaerobic dry fermentation, followed by depulping while retaining 100% of the mucilage for further fermentation. This processing method yields coffee with extremely sweet flavors, highlighting fresh fruit and floral notes.

Front Street Coffee Roasting Analysis
For this Geisha coffee, Front Street opted for a medium-light roast, developing it for 1 minute and 20 seconds after the first crack to highlight the beans’ sweetness, acidity, and floral-fruity aromas.

مقدمة المنطقة:
Coffee from the Volcan region is gradually emerging in the specialty market, and quite a few estates have entered the Best of Panama competition and even won the championship. Generally speaking, the Volcan region has less average annual rainfall than Boquete, and its geographical location on the western side of Volcan Baru also gives its coffee stronger dried-fruit flavors, sweetness and aroma compared with the Boquete region.
