Jackson 2/1257 — Named for a grower in Mysore, India, who around the early 1900s found trees on his farm that tolerated leaf rust - tolerance since lost, as the variety is now considered susceptible. Seed went to research stations in Kenya and Tanzania, where the 2/1257 line was selected.
Citrus and dark berries over soft acidity with dense sweetness and the settled finish typical of old East African selections.
Pour-over at 90-92 °C, 1:15, medium-fine grind, staged pours, to keep clarity and sweetness forward.
